Stumptown
February 5, 2008
The early settlers of Portland were so busy making lumber, and the land was so rich and plentiful, they didn’t bother to remove the stumps. Formerly a pejorative, and now a term of endearment, Stumptown is where I call home.
And here I sit in the Stumptown Coffee Roastes on Belmont. I’ve spent my life on Belmont. Whether on the Mt. Tabor bus, hanging out with a former girlfriend from another life, or taking a shortcut to downtown. It is good to be back in PDX.
Non-pretentious, open, eclectic, and full of life and energy. This is life in Portland and I’m home!
